Ok. We're all used to crazy things coming out of Utah when it comes to politics and religion (Mormons?) but this takes the cake. The Utah State Legislature proposed this law recently Criminal Homicide and Abortion Amendments under the leadership of Carl Wimmer.

I made this video and posted it here in response to Steven J. Gould’s idea of Non-overlapping Magisteria being pointed out as an argument for the non-conflict between science and religion but I’m writing this article in response to another article entitled: Creationists fighting ‘the Great Divide’ in the Culture War.

I’ve found myself face to face with Steven J. Gould’s concept of non-overlapping Magisteria recently and I would like to put this rather ludicrous idea in its place.
Gould’s idea in it’s basic form states that there is no conflict between science and religion. That science is concerned with explaining how the world works and religion is concerned with morality and purpose.
