At least six people were killed today when a gunman opened fire at a Sikh temple near Milwaukee, WI authorities said. A suspected shooter was later killed in exchange of gunfire with police.
A witness told the Associated Press that between 10 and 10:30, four white males dressed in black entered the temple and opened fire on members in the congregation. He said that at least 25 people were injured.
Investigators found four dead people inside of the temple and three outside, one of whom was a shooter who exchanged gunfire with police. A police officer was seriously wounded and sent to a nearby hospital.
The motives for the attack are unknown as of this writing.
