A Win for Freedom From Religion Foundation: Mayor's prayer breakfast to be taken over by private sponsors

Following a challenge by the Freedom From Religion Foundation about government-sponsored prayer, the Augusta, GA, mayor and city employees will no longer be sponsoring a prayer breakfast.

The event will now be called "The Community Prayer Breakfast."  The organization, coordination and promotion of the event will be taken over by private sponsors.

The Freedom From Religion Foundation commends the City for agreeing to discontinue its involvement in the prayer breakfast, local News Channel 12 reports.
