American Family Association claims that Office Depot is attempting to 'indoctrinate children'

Office Depot is the latest in the American Family Association's crusade against LGBT-friendly companies.  That's because Office Depot announced earlier this month that:

Office Depot (NYSE: ODP) is proud to announce a partnership with Born This Way Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by Lady Gaga and her mother, Cynthia Germanotta, that is dedicated to empowering youth and inspiring bravery.

The partnership, kicking off during the back-to-school season, will provide students, parents, and teachers with insights and limited-edition products that support Born This Way Foundation’s mission of helping to encourage today’s youth to grow up feeling confident about their individuality.

The American Family Association (AFA), which believes that "a culture based on biblical truth best serves the well-being of our nation and our families," claimed in an action alert issued today that "Office Depot is guaranteeing $1 million to help indoctrinate your children that they are born 'gay.'" AFA instructs its followers to send letters to Office Depot that say,

Office Depot's support for the "Born this way" campaign is terribly irresponsible.

There is zero credible evidence that people are born gay. Homosexuality is a poor and dangerous choice, and has been proven to lead to a litany of health hazards to not only the individuals but also society as a whole.

By backing this social agenda, Office Depot is deceiving our nation's young people into accepting a lifestyle that has proven to increase their chances of becoming victims to alcohol and drug abuse, depression and even suicide.

I urge Office Depot to drop this campaign and leave the raising of children to their parents.

The Florida Family Association, behind a campaign that encouraged home improvement retailer Lowe's to remove its ads from the "All-American Muslim" reality show, is also furious about Office Depot's partnership, demanding to know "What’s brave or kind about telling thousands of sexually frustrated teens that they were Born This Way when a high percentage of them would have ended up taking the straight heterosexual path for life?"

    I could poke holes in so many of their statements. I wonder if they realize that their agenda actually causes society more problems, not less, and even contributes to depression, violence, and suicide, more than homosexuality or anything else they attribute these things to? They probably wouldn't admit it if they did.

    Lady Gag Gag is such a fine role model for today's youths, I can see why the homosexual movement would want her as a spokes"thing" for their indoctrination cause.
    If you need proof that homosexuals are indoctrinating children, just pull up pictures of nude bike riders, young males in hot pants gyrating against each other on floats, or males dressed in S&M gear at "gay pride parades" (aka "the march of the moral degenerates") where THOUSANDS OF CHILDREN ARE PRESENT.

      Gotta say one thing, it is much better to indoctrinate using pop music, encouragement of joy and inclusion than fostering hatred, violence and bigotry. Even if AFA had a legitimate message (which I do not claim) it's methods are so loathsome that it doesn't matter.

What power do homosexual groups have? They have no power over me. Only those who are willing to submit to their doctrine. 2. "Bravery"? To be coerced into homosexual activity is not bravery, only willing acquiessence to evil. 3. "Born this way"? Doubtful. Yet even if it is so…So what? People are born blind, deaf, mute, lame, with AIDS, addicted to narcotics, without limbs, etc… That does not mean that it is something to be desired, but something to overcome, not cultivate. It might be that one is born with a propensity toward violence. Should that trait be cultivated and "celebrated'? But then advocates of abherrant behaviour would say it is 'OK' so long as it 'hurts' no one else. According to whom? A man might believe that if he imposes capital punishment on someone so as to prevent him from putting his immortal soul in grave peril (like homosexual acts, or murder, or blasphemy, or leading the innocent astray…) he would be doing a good thing, an act of charity.
    This is where men are led as a society and as individuals when they rely on their 'feelings' to be the arbiter of what is right and what is wrong.
    The law of truth and right living has been revealed to us for 2000 years and more. It is a tough life. So sad, too bad. Do the right thing for yourself, and even more important, do not lead the innocent astray so as to assuage your guilt.

    The American Family Association's brand of Christianity is one of the most dangerous attacks on American Democracy in our history. Christianity must come out of the dark ages and into the 21st Century. Science has disproven all the Christian myths about homosexuality and it's time for the Christian church's instututional discrimination against LGBT citizens be brought to a halt.
