Thai protesters demand respect for Buddha

Thai protesters say Buddha's image should not be used for commercial purposes. They marched today on one of the Bangkok's most famous streets, Khao San Road.

Demanding respect for Buddha, the protesters say that Buddhism is the father religion to Thailand and that businesses in Thailand and throughout the world that use the Buddha's images in commerce should stop doing so. One of the grievances is the Disney movie "Snow Buddies," which uses Buddha's name as a dog.

    I find this somewhat, but not completely, strange, given that the Buddha isn't a god. However, I can certainly see their objection to how Disney uses the Buddha though. That is bothersome.
