Contemplating consciousness and what has come to be known as the 6th sense has been a part of my psyche for as long as I can remember. I've never not been interested in psychic phenomenon. I've been profoundly aware of an energy that can't be explained that often gives us glimpses into the past or future, which by logic alone would seem impossible. For instance, I had a friend in Las Vegas named Terri, who was a gifted psychic. She didn't tout her ability, in fact, she was a little embarrassed by it. But when she got these impressions, if she felt like they were important she would always pass them on – and to my knowledge she was rarely wrong.
We were roommates at the time and one day I got a call from a friend from New Jersey inviting me to join him for New Year's Eve in New York City 1977. When I told Terri, she looked at me and said, Sheri, I think you need to move to New York. I was shocked, to say the least. Three weeks later I had sold my car all my furniture, and was on a plane to my new Manhattan apartment on the lower west side. It was there where I met the man who would later become my husband and the father of my future children. I'd been married twice before and had vowed to never have kids. But here I was now knowing my future with incredible certainty, even though this man who would eventually be my husband and the father to my kids, had no idea what lay in his future. When Terri proposed that I needed to move to New York, she didn't know why, that was left for me to figure out. But when I got there, there was no doubt. A few more pieces to my life's puzzle had snugly fit into place.
The last few years I've become more interested in the sixth sense since my body now seems to respond to future natural events, such as earthquakes. I get a strong feeling in my gut or solar plexus which feels like the flame of a candle being lit, hours or days before a major earth event. Sometimes the feeling's intense and pulses throughout my whole body, and other times it ignites for just a brief period, and then the flame goes out. After finally becoming aware that many times this feeling preceded a natural disaster, like the great Indonesian earthquake and Tsunami in 2004, or the Haiti earthquake of 2009, or the Japan quake, tsunami and nuclear disaster in 2011, I finally began paying close attention and documenting the feelings when they occurred. So far I've never missed. Usually the greater the magnitude of the event, the stronger the feeling and the longer the time between the feeling and the actual event. I began having feelings of impending doom and strange horrific dreams about 2 weeks before the Haiti earthquake. The disaster in Japan was about 7 or 8 days. About five days ago I predicted another major event – we'll see if I'm right again. It doesn't feel as horrific as any of the three I just mentioned, but it feels like something that will make news.
There are groups popping up around the globe trying to document scientifically how we are all connected and how our thoughts and the energy of our emotions alone greatly impact the world around us. For instance the Global Coherence Initiative is not only attempting to create a world wide network of people trying to manifest peace and harmony across the globe, but they have monitors to see the impact of global thoughts when they happen. The Global Consciousness Project is doing very much the same thing only from a merely scientific view. They don't seek to influence the outcome, but rather monitor it. This brief video explains how before the major events their random number generators around the globe started behaving differently than usual. What is not told on this a particular video is how not only before, 9/11, but also with the election of our first black president, Barack Obama and the Japan quake and the subsequent disaster which followed, the data changed from it's normal around 50/50 pattern and went off the charts, and the changes began registering before the actual events:
Before ever hearing about these projects, I had noticed a correlation between world events and how my body felt before the event actually happened. Along with these feelings in my body, I've learned there is information we can access from the energy field of other people. With their permission, and through the energetic information associated with their name, thoughts and images come to me that seem to be relevant to their life and the path they are on, just like when Terri told me she had an impression that I should move to New York, which literally changed the course of my life and drew to me the events which allowed me to give birth to four beautiful children. I'm convinced the information comes for a reason, perhaps to give clues about how to find more joy and fulfillment, or avoid disaster, or how to communicate better with the people in our lives. Once I do a reading and pass the information on, it's up to a client to figure out what it means.
Some examples of information I've received during a reading (which I did not know before) are: A young boy came to me holding a pair of white lace up sneakers. When I mentioned this to the client, she told me her son had been killed by a car and when the police came to her house to tell her that tragic news, they were holding one of his sneakers, they couldn't find the other one. Well, her son wanted her to know he was whole now, he had, so to speak, both sneakers. Another example was during a reading a man came through with a lot of dark confused energy. It felt like a father figure but I wasn't sure. I also wasn't sure if the man was alive or deceased. I got the strong impression, either way, that he was trying to reach her. I mentioned him to the client and sure enough, her father suffered from drug addiction, hence the darkness I felt. He was alive and lived in Peru. She said she hadn't talked to him for almost a year, but within a few days after the reading he called her out of the blue.
There are scores of examples I could relate, but that's really not the point. The point is, we are more than these bags of bones, flesh and blood. We are part of an electromagnetic field which seems to carry information across time and space. And if we can learn to access some of that information, we can see and even feel future events, and we can also see events of the past which we've never had access to before, other than in our own imaginations.
Post Script: While preparing this article for publication, I noticed my Google USGS gadget which shows earthquakes around the world, showed that within the past hour (currently I reside in PDT and it's around 2:34 p.m.) a 6.0 magnitude, or possibly greater, earthquake hit Taiwan. There have been a flurry of quakes there in the last few days, fortunately all have been fairly deep. I know many people will say well, there are earthquakes happening all over the world all the time, which is true. But ones over 5.0 magnitude are more rare, and they are the ones my body seems to sense in advance.
