Regardless of what religion it is, a child who grows up in a religious environment is programmed and indoctrinated since birth to believe. Many never go beyond this indoctrination. Curiosity is shut down; critical thinking is not encouraged.

This is the first part of a story by a man who eventually left the faith and explains the deconversion process.
