Black and White Churches Merge in Kentucky

Two pastors from two segregated churches in Kentucky are combining their churches, saying that church tends to be the most segregated part of the community. The move was made partly to save money and partly to overcome segregation.   To the naysayers, they claim that it is going to be a little bit like what heaven will be.

The Louisville churches merged their congregations Sunday and hope the move will improve race relations.   They hope that their newly-combined churches will serve as a model for other congregations throughout the country.
