Twin male polar bears are set to meet visitors for the first time during the coming New Year at the Dalian Laohutan Pole Aquarium in northeast China's Liaoning Province.
Under the care of breeders, the cubs weigh about 22 pounds and are slightly over 2 feet tall, with one taller than the other.
The cubs were born two months ago. Staff say that they are healthy, growing well and will soon be able to walk.
According to Polar Bear International, experts in polar bear science believe they could become extinct. They predict that as the Arctic continues to warm due to climate change, two-thirds of the world's polar bears could disappear by mid-century
