Have you been judging yourself for eating chocolate over the holidays?
It turns out that dark chocolate — if that's what you've been enjoying — is good for you, if eaten in moderation.
Dark chocolate has long been linked to lower blood pressure and a reduced risk of heart disease, but now a study by Swedish scientists say it could lower the chances of a stroke for women, too. The announcement comes from ten years of research, in which researchers followed 33,000 women aged between 49 and 83 for ten years. They filled out lengthy questionnaires about their diet and lifestyle, including how much chocolate they ate and how often they indulged.
Eating dark chocolate in moderation is key to its health benefits.
