Why do all cultures, distant and diverse, have similar tales of dragons? Universal wisdom confirms dragons have interacted with people since time immemorial — they call to us, pique our curiosity, and arouse our fears. These mystical beasts are real and their power, their influence, and especially their magick can be captured. Building upon rituals and drawing on their energy, learn to befriend these inspirational creatures and become partners with them on a spiritual journey. Move with them, learn from them, dance in perfect human/dragon syncopation.

A unique, one-of-a-kind tome and a welcome addition to the growing body of metaphysical lore.

User Ratings and Reviews

3 Stars Take it with a grain of salt
When I first saw this book, I was excited beyond belief. I hadn't even known people COULD work with Dragons, with whom I had been facinated with all my life. I grabbed it and read it quickly, and then re read it almost right away. I took it all as the gosple truth for nearly a year, until I started doing my own research.

First, no where other than her book can the names of the "elemental dragon rulers" be found. Only fafnier's name shows up anywhere in legend, and this dragon is neither described as a fire dragon OR a ruler, even when the legend is told in Conway's own book!

Secondly, Dragons appear to be portrayed as extra powerful elementals. While dragons may work more closely with one element than another and may even appear "color coded" as Conway describes, they are not elemental in nature. I myself am a double water sign. I have checked my hands in palmestry books and my fingers and hands are also of the water type. However, I am made of the same percentage of water as anyone else, not to mention I'm not blue. Dragons may even change which element they work with.

Third, is her obsession with the sword. I was shocked when I read another book on dragon magick and the pratices of other people and found that a sword wasn't even MENTIONED, let alone used. This actually came as a relief to me, as a sword is often expenisve, unweildly in a circle, and holding even a small sword out to the dragon pentacle (also a further unmentioned tool) and the four elements is exausting and uncomfortable. A person even with a small alter in the middle is going to have to draw quite a large circle to have room for them to hold a sword out at arm's length.

Much of her descriptions of the dragons seem unwarrented as well. "Desert dragons have mesmerizing eyes and use them to hypnotize their prey," she says. Where the heck did THAT come from. I began to see why many people refered to Dungeons and Dragons when talking about Conway's writing. As if dragons, with all their power that Conway attributes to them (and I have no doubt she's correct on THAT much at least) need to hypnotize kangaroo rats to catch them.

I hope that in time, enough books on Dragon Magick will be published so that others can see this book for what it really is: A compilation of one person's study and experiences, and not the be-all-end-all of dragon magick. If you're seriously interested in Dragon Magick I actually would recommend this book. Just don't don't take it at face value.

5 Stars Dragons! Joy! Fun!
If you love dragons this is a great book . The experience that you had as a child is brought back to you, as you learn about Dragons. There wisdom, power and playful ways are brought to you as you learn, and experience a friendship with them. Give them love and respect and your friendship will grow.

As it says: If you like dragons you'll love this book.

3 Stars not too bad …
When I first saw this book is seemed very interesting. It's not too bad, but if you want alot of dragon magick, rituals, and spells, you are in for a disapointment.

This book is alot of history, a chapter on basic rituals and the normal stuff found in magick books about stones, herbs, and such. I was a bit bummed out after I read through the book. I did expect a bit more in terms of ritals, not the same stuff I can read in other books.

1 Star Needs to be in a different category
I would have less of a problem with this book if it was just a breakdown of all the dragon lore and history, etc. Honestly the magic element felt contrived to me, like someone said "Hey, dragons are in…Let's make a dragon magic book-after we finish these two on ninja and pirate magic."

I know part of what makes anything metaphysical work is the power of belief and just putting good energy into things buuut…this makes my bullhonky detector go BEEP BEEEEP BEEEEEP! I guarantee you these cantrips were engineered by the publisher/author, and not 'real' spells passed down from parent to child, master to apprentice over the eons.

5 Stars Get well gift
This book was bought as a get well gift. She was thrilled with it. I was again happy with the purchase from Amazon. I have to say that I have been pleased with every purchase I have made with Amazon. The company is very fair and the products are actually what I expected. I will continue to order from Amazon!
