Spreading Lies in the Name of the Judeo-Christian Nation

Americans United for Separation of Church and State has disclosed the recent activities of the Community Issues Council (CIC), which will be placing ten billboards in Florida to promote the notion that the United States is a "Judeo-Christian" nation.

The billboards use quotes from the Founding Fathers that are either false, misleading or taken out of context.   For instance, one billboard credits George Washington for saying, "It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible."   There is no evidence that Washington ever said this, so the group is justifying its position by saying he could have said it. Heck, Jesus could have said, "Thou shalt not spread false rumors in public." That does not mean he did say that.
