A preacher who had some legal trouble over alleged child abuse sold an Alabama church building against the wishes of the church congregation and allegedly pocketed a hefty profit from the sale in order to pay for his legal affairs.
Parishioners say that their church is now homeless.
Church members claim that they had been paying the mortgage and insurance, as well as tithes to the minister, and should have had some say in the matter, as well as a percentage of the profit.
Available news is unclear as to how the arrangement contractually worked. The issue stems around a verbal agreement — and now members are visiting a lawyer to protect their perceived rights. They unsuccessfully tried to stop the preacher from driving away, as shown in the second video.
