Al Qaida Asks for Support for its Holy War; China Uneasy


Al-Qaida's deputy leader called on Pakistanis to join his group's holy war against the United States in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

The leader warned that Muslims could face the destruction of both countries and provoke God's wrath if they do not join the cause.

He calls on every Muslim in Pakistan to rise up and support Jihad.

China is concerned about an Al Qaida threat. Beijing is warning its citizens in Algeria about possible attacks from Al Qaida in response to the recent deadly riots in the predominantly Muslim Xinjiang region of western China. 184 were killed and over 1000 persons were injured in the Xinjiang riots.
