Jehovah Witnesses May Be Banned in Russia

Russia says that Jehovah's Witnesses incite hatred and are religious extremists.   Consequently, it is considering banning the practice of the religion.

There are at least tens of thousands of Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia.   The Jehovah's Witnesses gained popularity in the 1990s.

People feel that the religion is annoying, but the refusal of blood transfusion is the reason cited by the government for the religion being "dangerous."

If the religion is banned, Jehovah's Witnesses will probably go underground, creating even more tension.
