Gay Couple Cited at Mormon's Temple Square

Two gay men were detained by LDS temple security, and then by the police. There are two very different stories.

The couple says that they were targeted by church security as they were cutting across Temple Square after a concert because they were displaying homosexual affection. The church says the couple was politely asked not to engage in objectionable behavior and that the men became agitated and had to be restrained.

The couple was charged with a Class C misdemeanor and is not allowed on Temple Square for the next six months. Temple Square is private property owned by the LDS Church.
