Vatican Investigates Miracle

An investigator with the Catholic Church is checking to see whether a Colwich, Kansas, pole vaulter's recovery is a true miracle.

While pole vaulting, Chase Kear fell on his head and was in a coma.   Doctors did not believe he would live.   He recovered in two months and believers assert that the miraculous recovery was the result of prayer.

While Chase was in the hospital, constant prayers were directed up to Father Emil Kapaun, who was a local priest.   The Vatican had been in the canonization process to see if Kapaun should be named a saint. The Catholic Church only needs to prove he is responsible for one more miracle and are checking to see if Chase's recovery is it.   The Vatican's investigator is currently interviewing doctors for more information.
