Mormon Angel Moroni Struck by Lightening

The Angel Moroni sitting atop the new Oquirrh Mountain Utah Temple was hit by lightening, charring his arm and trumpet.  LDS Church spokespeople say that if the church was to be hit with lightening, it is supposed to hit the statue which is designed to safely channel the bolt of electricity.

The Oquirrh Mountain Temple is the 130th temple constructed by the Mormon church, and is scheduled to be dedicated in August.   The church plans on restoring Moroni's golden finish by that time.
