Food for Thought: What Will the End Times Really Mean?

Many Christian based religions believe in Armageddon or the End Times. In most of their beliefs, God will unleash his wrath on the earth, creating horrible plagues and suffering for mankind. Only a small group of elite who happen to be in the correct faith will be saved, while their friends, family and non-believers worldwide will suffer unimaginable pain and death on a massive scale.

The frightening thing is that many who believe in this type of thing genuinely look forward to the End Times. They believe that their particular group alone will enjoy a peaceful deliverance while the rest of humanity suffers a massive genocide.

When examined carefully, this type of thinking is disturbing. In this deeply felt and thoughtful commentary, "VanCoffeeChick" explores the giddy anticipation of billions of non-believers in the End Times and the psychosis of such thinking. As she says, looking forward to the end of life is very sad.
