The decapitated head of St Vitalis of Assisi will be auctioned with a guideline price of $1,200 – $1,800, Irish Central reports. The saint is the patron of genital diseases.
The head was in a case and displayed at the Annesbrook House in Duleek for years. It was hidden when young children came to visit.
When young, Saint Vitalis of Assisi lived an "immoral life," filled with licentiousness. He later became a monk, living in destitution, to atone for his sins.
