Harold Camping, Christian radio broadcaster and president of Family Radio, who set the date of Judgment Day for May 21, 2011, has estimated that about 200 million people (approximately 3 percent of the world's population) will be Raptured worldwide. According to a FamilyRadio.com publication, "the Holy Bible tells us that only a small percentage of today’s world will turn from their evil ways, and with great humility and fear will cry to God for mercy. Nevertheless, the Bible assures us that many of the people who do beg God for His mercy will not be destroyed. We learn from the Bible that Holy God plans to rescue about 200 million people (that is about 3% of today’s population). On the first day of the Day of Judgment (May 21, 2011) they will be caught up (raptured) into Heaven because God had great mercy for them. "
According to Harold Camping, Rapture will begin from the Pacific Rim at about 6 p.m. local time, with a great earthquake "such as has never been in the history of the Earth" and all true Christians, estimated at about 200 million worldwide, will be Raptured.
What happens to the rest of us over five billion and eight hundred million unbelievers who remain behind? There will follow a period of 153 days of torture and torment after which God will destroy the entire universe, exactly on October 21. Thus, according to Harold Camping, we will face annihilation, total destruction, cease to be conscious for Camping and his group do not believe in eternal hell torment like most other Christian groups believe.
What then can we do to be saved? According to Harold Camping the "church age" is over so belonging to some church will not guarantee Rapture. The only requisite for Rapture is to believe with our whole heart that Harold Camping's set time of 6 p.m., May 21, 2011, is the moment and date of the Rapture.
