National Day of Prayer Lawsuit Moves Forward


The federal lawsuit brought by the Freedom from Religion Foundation which alleges that the National Day of Prayer is unconstitutional is moving forward. Both the Obama administration and the National Day of Prayer Task Force sought to dismiss the suit.

The judge opined that the Freedom From Religion Foundation has a heavy burden in showing that the national day of prayer violates the separation of church and state, but believes that the Foundation should have the opportunity to do so.
