Genesis 22 Discussion.

As Chev mentions, what about Ishmael?   Why was Isaac considered Abraham's only son?

What kind of loving God would ask someone to kill a child as a test?   And what does this say about Abraham?   Imagine all the therapy Isaac needed after this incident.

In the King James version of this chapter, it is the entity called God that tells Abraham to sacrifice his son; it is an angel of the LORD who stops him.   Why couldn't God stop him?

At the very end of the genealogy, Abraham's brother has eight sons with his wife and another four with his concubine, once again indicating that monogamy is not required in the bible.
