A World First: Historic Buddhist Relics Brought to France

Relics of the historical Buddha Sakyamuni, more commonly known as Siddhartha Gautama, were placed in their new permanent home in the Grand Pagoda in Vincennes, on the eastern edge of Paris, yesterday. The relics were a gift from the patriarch of Thailand.

This is the first time that relics of this importance have been brought to a European country.

As shown in the video below (will load in a few seconds), French Buddhists put on a colorful celebration to mark the moment.
