Abram is upset because he does not have any descendants and that one of his servants will inherit his possessions (apparently, the servants are more worthy of the inheritance than his wife). He is given visions about his descendants and kills some animals as sacrifices.
15:11 And when the fowls came down upon the carcases, Abram drove them away.
15:12 And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him.
15:13 And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not their's, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years.
What is meant by "horror of great darkness?" This appears immediately after he has strewn animal carcassas around for an offering. Was it a false vision? Was it a nightmare? Normally, the Bible talks about God, or the LORD God, or the word of God. Here, we have the "horror of great darkness."
A couple of verses down, the LORD is again talking to Abram and makes a covenenant which, according to the New Testament, was not fulfilled.

Thanks for sharing the article, that video was interesting to watch. Cheers.
Glad someone's following these! Each chapter is a lot of work but if people are going to declare this a "Christian nation," they need to read their bibles so they know what the bible actually says. We're hoping to make bible reading somewhat entertaining.
