Wesak Greetings

Yesterday was Wesak (Vesak), the most important day in Buddhism.

Wesak falls on the full moon of May.   Dating back approximately 2600 years, three important events happened:

  • Prince Siddhartha, the Buddha-to-be was born;
  • 35 years later, on the same day, Prince Siddhartha attained enlightenment; and
  • On his 80th birthday, the Buddha passed away.

The Children of MHDC, Mettananda Vihara, Penang convey their short message of joy and happiness of Wesak via this special YouTube video.
