Psychic Sylvia Browne, famous in part for her appearances on the Montel Williams Show, has suffered a heart attack. She had appeared at a number of events in Hawaii and had the heart attack shortly before her scheduled trip back to the mainland on Monday, March 21.
Browne has authored 45 books and has made numerous appearances worldwide for her psychic readings. She has also given thousands of personal readings.
People seeking personal readings pay $850 for a 30 minute reading by Browne. They can also pay $500 for a reading from her son, Chris.
Browne claims to have solved hundreds of missing persons and criminal cases. Many people have questioned Browne's accuracy, including CNN's Anderson Cooper.
In January 2007, Cooper reviewed Browne's hits and misses, interviewing her business manager Linda Rossi, who said that everything that Browne says is with God and through God. Rossi said that Browne never charges for missing persons cases or cases brought by the police. Skeptic James Randi appeared on the show, saying that he goes after her because she is a major figure.
Browne had agreed to Randi's million dollar challenge on the Larry King show in September 2001 but according to Randi's website, has not taken the challenge.
