Westboro Baptist Protest at the White House

Claiming that the anti-christ is in the White House, Shirley Phelps-Roper and her clan demonstrated in front of the White House on March 30, carrying the usual array of signs and signing songs about dead soldiers.

Jesse Singal with the Center for American Progress took his video camera to the scene and reported on the events at the Campus Progress blog. According to the blog report, the counter-protesters far outnumbered the Westboro Baptist Church protesters.

Here is one of several videos that Jessee took.

One Response to “Westboro Baptist Protest at the White House”

  1. I wonder sometimes if people stopped giving these folks press if they would give up after a while. On the other hand, it's good to be informed about their activities. It's a real conundrum. In Buffalo, when Westboro went up there, the protesters against Westboro simply stood silently with their backs to the Westboro people. Apparently Westboro didn't stick around too long after that.
