Harold Camping and His Followers Spread Their Message of May 21, 2011, Judgment Day Because the Bible Tells Them So

Campings group warns Obama"God has given every true believer a mandate," preaches Harold Camping of Family Radio.  "I have made you a watchman and every true believer is a watchman … and if you do not warn the people, you are guilty of their deaths."

With marching orders in hand, the young and old alike who believe Camping's apocalyptic message are passing out fliers, erecting billboards and even writing to President Obama, warning that Judgment Day is upon humanity.  In a video put out by Family Radio, smiling young people wear t-shirts proclaiming that Jesus is coming back on May 21, 2011.  Signs in various languages are shown all over the world.  Photos of homes with judgment day signs in their front yards are displayed.

In a voice over on the video, a man warns,

We are living at the very end of time and we are that last generation.  People don't want to admit that.  People try to suppress that information or ignore that information but the fact remains that every time god has brought judgment on the earth, he has always warned the believers.

Another voice over explains that people are still going about their business, knowing that May 21, 2011, is the end of the world because "the world is in darkness." He proclaims that "If God opens your eyes, … You'll see that we are at the very edge of the end of the world."

"We are commanded, we have to talk about this it is not an option. We have to say it again and again. May 21 is the judgment, the day of the beginning of judgment." According to Camping, who has had failed doomsday prophesies in the past, "It is the most important day by a billion times than any other day that this world has ever ever known."

HAROLD CAMPINGS BOOK – ADAM WHEN

I do not agree with everything Camping writes but here are some interesting facts that do have scientific ties to reality and can be checked with history, legends, archeology, geology, astronomy, science etc. I believe their were many Noah’s that survived through out the world and that the Noah story is the Old Testament is a dramatically crafted on to promote the “Serpent Bloodline” history known as the bloodline of Cain, and the Sumerian Adam and Eve who were cloned by the alien god known as Yahweh Ildabaoth the Demiurge who rules this planet during this earth generation. He created several reptilan entities to do his bidding for him known to the ancient legends as:

Here is what people need to know about Yahweh Ildabaoth the Demiurge:

Research indicates that the Hebrew Bible is far from being the infallible word of god or an accurate historical text authored by a Supreme Being. The Old Testament is a heavily revised compilation of at least two entirely separate works, which were fused together in the Book of Genesis. They are two separate works known to scholars as the northern "E" and southern "J" traditions. After these traditions were combined they were supplemented by adding more revisions and inserts.
In "E" (the Elohist passages) refer to the pre-Judaean tradition of the northern people groups who lived Northern Israel known in the Old Testament as the Hebrew Israelites. The Hebrews exalted the Most High God El and his subordinate Elohim known as the (Shining Ones).
The "J" or "Jehovist" passages describe a totally alien entity known as Yahweh Ildabaoth the Demiurge aka Lord Jehovah, he was the evil (YHWH). According to Max J. Dimont in his JEWS, GOD AND HISTORY written "In the 5th century B.C. it was Jewish priests who combined portions of the 'J' and 'E' documents, adding a little handiwork of their own (known as the PIOUS FRAUD), which are referred to as the 'JE' documents. The god in these passages is referred to as 'Jehovah Elohim' or Yahweh Ildabaoth the Demiurge who was a “Fallen Elohim.” He is identified in the Old Testament under the title 'Lord God' with out a name. Because these gods were all later combined under Yahweh Ildabaoth the Demiurge their names were removed from the Old Testament Jewish Bible, leaving only their titles which is very confusing.
This is why we have such conflicting images of the Supreme God. We find, if we really DO OUR HOMEWORK that Jehovah was actually a tribal god, masquerading as the Supreme Being.
The first chapters of Genesis describe an awesome struggle between two rival powers. There is the Most High God El who was the leader of the Nordic Aryan Alien “Fallen Elohim Watchers” and the malevolent Lord God, Jehovah, who created a synthetic being composed of dirt known as the Sumerian Adam found in Genesis Chapter 2. Jehovah is actually a satanic SHINING ONE who rose in revolt against the Supreme Nordic god El. Though later called the One God, the early Hebrews knew Jehovah as only one of many “Fallen Elohim”. They quoted the Song of Moses to distinguish between the Most High god El the usurper Yahweh Ildabaoth the Demiurge aka Jehovah:
When the Most High (El) gave the nations their heritage,
    When He divided mankind,
He fixed the territories of the peoples
    According to the number of the sons of God;
But Jehovah's (YHWH) share was his people,
Jacob was his inherited possession. (Deuteronomy 32:8)
Jacobs line was the “Serpent Bloodline” race Cain is associated with.
The Gnostic Christians who followed and preserved the original teachings of Jesus, distinguished between OUR HEAVENLY FATHER and the god of the Hebrew Bible. Yahweh Ildabaoth the Demiurge (YHWH), who WAS NOT THE FATHER REVEALED BY JESUS (YASHUA). While the Hebrew Bible revealed a tribal god, the God of Jesus (Yashua) was the universal Supreme Being of all humanity.

Yahweh Ildabaoth the Demiurge Lord God Jehovah, was a god of fear, while Jesus' Heavenly Father was a God of love. In fact, Jesus never referred to OUR HEAVENLY FATHER as Jehovah. The Gnostic Gospel of Peter states that the HEBREWS AND JEWS WERE UNDER THE DELUSION THAT THEY KNEW THE SUPREME BEING, but they were ignorant of him, and knew only false gods, and impostors for the real god.

Harold Camping shows us the Sumerian Creation myth here when he uses the date for 11,013 B.C. as the date the Sumerian Adam was created. He makes the assumption that the flood that flooded the Persian Gulf and the Sumerian Garden of Eden occurred around 4990 B.C. and then quotes the continental division to have happened around 3153 B.C. The Adam and Eve story found in Genesis chapter 2 is a re-written version of the Sumerian Creation Story. The first date 11.013 corresponds to the time our earth toppled into the Dark Rift when global cataclysm are reported to have happened to our planet which occur on and half way point and on each 26.000 cycle of the earth wobble. This happens to coincide with the melting of the last ice age as well when massive flooding occurred to different parts of our world as the sea levels rose.

Here is a link online that talks about this by John Major Jenkins.

    The Dark Rift

Is the Earth on the verge of another Pole shift?

    http://www.disinfomatrix.com/the-dark-rift

Scientists are unanimous about the fact that our solar system is now close to passing through the center of our galactic plane. Referred to by the Mayans as "The Dark Rift" The Galactic plane is the magnetic center plane of our galaxy, The Milky Way. Our solar system, and therefore the sun, earth and all of the planets began to approach the center of the plane in 1998 and will reach the center in 2012 as it does every 13,000 years. This much is agreed upon. What is not agreed upon is what will happen when we reach the center. We do know that planets, stars and other heavenly bodies will align with the center of the galaxy and the super-massive black hole that resides there. Gravitational fields will also line up and be intensified as a result. Some scientists theorize that the Earth could experience one or more pole shifts from perturbations due to increased gravitational fields exerted on the earth from the alignment of galactic bodies. Pole shifts have occurred many times in Earth's history and will happen again. During previous pole shifts, core samples from around the world show major upheavals accompany such changes. I point to Antarctica and evidence that it was once a lush, tropical rain forest. Other evidence shows that the great American western prairie was once covered by an ocean. We know sea levels fluctuate as there was once a land bridge between Russia and America that Native Americans used to migrate to the American continent. Sea levels have always and will again rise and fall and civilizations will come and go, all brought on by periods of warming and periodical ice ages.

I believe the flood occurred after the melting of the last ice age some time, which is what scientists seem to say. It is very possible the earth flipped on it’s side during that cataclysmic period placing the poles in the north and south pole regions where they are today.

This is a fascinating piece, and thank you for spending the time writing it. I completely agree that there seems to be a rift between the gods of the Old and New Testaments and personally am of the opinion that Yahweh was a volcano god and, as you said, a tribal god.

I'm interested in your thoughts about the book of Revelations, and how that ties in.

I remember Harold Camping's claims about the coming parousia back in 1993; he claimed that Christ would return in Sept. of 1994, which bothered me as I would start seminary then. As usual, the Lord did not appear in the clouds, and he moved the date to something like March, 1995. When, once again, our Lord decided to ignore Brother Camping's schedule, he told us that the Lord had "decided to tarry." I look forward to his excuse this time around!

    • http://www.goddiscussion.com admin

Wow — you have personal recollection of his failed prophesies. The dates you cited correspond with the dates we reported elsewhere here at God Discussion. I suspect that the excuse will be that God had a different plan, or that a new revelation was being provided or whatever.

I have some acquaintances who are involved in Camping's church and they sincerely believe what Camping says. Their relatives are very worried about how they will take it when nothing happens.

I feel so bad for the children who are in this and forced to have to pass out the brochures and walk the streets with signs proclaiming the end.

Thanks for your wonderful, insightful comments, Padre!

Although I am now a priest in the Episcopal Church serving as a missionary in Panamá, I was raised in the Assemblies of God church and am familiar with those who use the scriptures as some sort of puzzle to decipher in order to discover the date of the parousia. They all seem to forget that Jesus said that no one, not even he, knew when it would take place; only the Father knows.

I have no idea how to deal with the gnosticism in the first comment.

I've been listening to Dr. Camping for over two years and I too am surprised by his ability to determine the day of the Lord's return.I'm also hoping to see his response on May 22nd 2011 if the Lord should tarry.

If such an event ever does take place in our lifetimes, the 'Apocalypse' that the religious promise will rain down on the rest of us is much more likely to land on their own heads first, hard and heavy!

Christian history is all theological. A human intellectual construct, attempting to know the mind of God without that mind being revealed by God and has been in perpetual disagreement for most of its' history. Thus unlikely to have anything to do with God. No more than the intellectual pretensions, vain imagination, the folly of empty hopes. But I suppose it's good to have an occasional example of what is really false, just in case something true actually even happens!

The bottom line is that if a second coming should take place in any form, what must be among the first priorities for such personage is to expose those theological claims which are no better than chasing after wind. And to do so, such a person would have to 'reveal' a message at odds with all existing orthodoxy? Rapture could quickly turn to nightmare! And blow two thousand years of religious status quo right out of the water. From Rome to Mr. Camping and everything in between. That long over due revolution may already be getting started?

    Stamping Out Harold Camping

I don't care a fig for date-setters, especially those who predict when Christ will return. The current champion is 89-year-old, headline-grabbing Harold Camping of Family Radio fame.
Is Second Coming date-setter Harold Camping worthy of death? He already has a zero batting average after his September 1994 prediction fizzle and, according to the Bible, is a false prophet.
Nevertheless that California shaman, who should be ashamed, claims he's found out that Christ's return will be on May 21, 2011 even though Matt. 24:36 says that no one knows the "day" or "hour" of it!
A Google article ("Obama Fulfilling the Bible") points out that "Deut. 18:20-22 in the Old Testament requires the death penalty for false prophets."
The same article reveals that "Christians are commanded to ask God to send severe judgment on persons who commit and support the worst forms of evil (see I Cor. 5 and note 'taken away')."
Theologically radioactive Harold Camping and his ga-ga groupies (with their billboards featuring "May 21, 2011") should worry about being "stamped out" if many persons decide to follow the I Cor. 5 command.
The above article concludes: "False prophets in the OT were stoned to death. Today they are just stoned!"
PS – For many years Camping was not known as a pretrib rapture teacher. But now, for $ome my$teriou$ rea$on, he seeks support from those who believe in and teach an imminent, pretrib rapture which supposedly will occur SEVERAL YEARS BEFORE the traditional SECOND COMING to earth! For a behind-the-scenes, documented look at the 181-year-old pretrib rapture belief (which was never a part of any official theology or organized church before 1830!), Google "Pretrib Rapture Dishonesty," "Pretrib Rapture Diehards" and "Pretrib Rapture – Hidden Facts." These are from the pen of journalist/historian Dave MacPherson a.k.a the "Pretrib Rapture Answerman" & the "Rush Limbaugh of the Rapture" – author of the bestselling book "The Rapture Plot," an "encyclopedia" of pretrib rapture history (see Armageddon Books).
