Sweden MP Challenges the Pope's Fundamentalism

In light of the Pope's remarks in Africa about condoms and the Catholic Church's attitude toward an abortion for a 9-year-old girl in Brazil, one of Sweden's MPs is demanding that the Swedish government launch a formal protest with the Vatican over what she sees as the religious fundamentalism of Pope Benedict XVI.

Politician Birgitta Ohlsson has launched Swedish and English pages at Facebook challenging the Pope's fundamentalist values, and is looking toward European parliamentary elections this coming June as an "… opportunity to put pressure the Pope and his gang in the Vatican for a message that damages the human rights of millions of people around the world."
