    If the votes come in even I will actually take that as a good sign. It means that God discussion is attracting all kinds of people. I'd hate for this site to be one-sided. An echo chamber is never a good place to voice one's opinions and the reason for this is I think can be summed up in a old Chinese proverb:
    "The gem cannot be polished without friction, nor man perfected without trials."

    themanofearth, part of your comment is well-said. The Chinese proverb that you mentioned holds true for time immemorial. People need to be polished with friction so that they can be stronger people. Trials are tests for people.
