A young woman, known as Elaha, has braved death threats to mesmerize audiences on "Afghan Star," the country's version of "American Idol." The Taliban and religious leaders believe that the television program is immoral.

"Elaha" is Persian for Goddess. Despite the threats from outsiders and the objections of her conservative family, Elaha strives to live her dreams and refuses to give up.
