Israel Loyalty Oath to be Voted On

Would you pledge allegiance to the "Christian democracy of the United States?" As reported in September that is the type of pledge that the conservative right wants Israeli citizens to do. The proposed pledge, which is being voted upon this week, would make citizens take a loyalty oath to the Jewish democracy of Israel.

Critics say that Israel's actions are racist and that the oath could reduce freedoms for all Israelis.

Peace talks with Israel and Palestine are currently deadlocked, with Israel refusing to freeze the construction of illegal settlements.
