God is Managing the Tea Party (Joy Behar Discussion)

bible godRebecca Dana, Senior Columnist at the Daily Beast, kidded with Joy Behar about God's political management skills.  The discussion was prompted by Christine O'Donnell's proclamation that God wanted her to run for Senate.  O'Donnell isn't the only one saying God has her on the campaign trail.  For instance, in July, Sharron Angle said the same thing.

Dana remarked that God has his hands full with all of the tea party candidates, and that this election is a testing ground for his campaign abilities.

John Fugelsang, comedian and actor, says that the God that O'Donnell listens to doesn't have anything to do with Jesus.

Acress Linda Blair pointed out the Pew Forum study that found that America has become illiterate in religion.  Atheists and agnostics are more informed about religion than religious people.

The issue of the dangers of religious fundamentalism — which has nothing to do with spirituality — was discussed.
