The Bible Slam: Deuteronomy Chapter 15

This chapter rambles on with a collection of different rules and regulations.  For instance:

  • Debts are to be released after seven years (except debts from foreigners);
  • The Israelites are to lend to many nations but borrow from none;
  • You should help the poor amongst your own kind;
  • Israelites owning Hebrew slaves are to let the slaves go in the seventh year; various rules are given concerning slaves;
  • The firstborn livestock are to be given as offerings;
  • Animals to be sacrificed can't have blemishes; and
  • Don't eat blood.
