People obsessed with "End Times" prophesies claim that there is a huge planet Nibiru (sometimes called Planet X) on its way, ready to collide with earth and destroy life as we know it. There is no scientific evidence for such a planet.
Scientists also point out that the Mayan Calendar does not end in 2012.
Another doomsday proclamation has to do with solar flares, but science has proven that these are cyclical.
There is no evidence whatsoever that the 2012 doomsday prophesies have any validity.
