2012 Doomsday Prophesies: Nibiru, Planet X and the Mayan Calender

The End is NearPeople obsessed with "End Times" prophesies claim that there is a huge planet Nibiru (sometimes called Planet X) on its way, ready to collide with earth and destroy life as we know it.  There is no scientific evidence for such a planet.

Scientists also point out that the Mayan Calendar does not end in 2012.

Another doomsday proclamation has to do with solar flares, but science has proven that these are cyclical.

There is no evidence whatsoever that the 2012 doomsday prophesies have any validity.

YouTube member FFree Thinker writes:

A Scientific Reality Check: There apparently is a great deal of interest in celestial bodies, and their locations and trajectories at the end of the calendar year 2012. Now, I for one love a good book or movie as much as the next guy. But the stuff flying around through cyberspace, TV and the movies is not based on science. There is even a fake NASA news release out there… So here is the scientific reality on the celestial happenings in the year 2012.

  • Life goes up and down and then you die. There is alot happening now with earth changes and all like the oilspill and Iran crisis. Many have written about pole shifts and how the earth can change in a few hours, even Albert Einstein was for the theory. Wonder what the earth would look like if this happened? 2012 Prophecy prognoses are indeed interesting! Peace!

I'm fascinated by the whole coming-of-the-apocalypse thing, especially when tied to the ancient Mayan culture. There are many who call BS to the 2012 end-of-the-world revelations, but I'm astonished by the accuracy of the Mayan observation of natural phenomenons.

More importantly, the Mayans did not predict the end of the world. It's just the end of a cycle, which I'm not sure exactly what. The doomsayers are just saying it's the apocalypse. I'm not sure what our scientists are saying.

I’m so sick of ppl dismissing the whole notion of a 9th planet solely on the grounds that they think that we would have seen it by now. Sure, a lot of the claims about a planet nibiru and the anuuaki are a little out there, even for the most “open minded” conspiracy theorists. This doesn’t change the fact though that there are facts that point to the presence of a 9th planet (like perturbations in the orbit of Neptune that are far greater than the gravitational effect of Pluto or any other known celestial bodies). Regardless of whether there is a 9th planet, I still have a feeling that whatever happens in 2012 will not be favorable for us. There’s no way to know for sure, but I doubt that our collective resonance is on a frequency high enough to ascend into a higher consciousness or w.e it is that they say is supposed to happen. There’s actually some good articles about how the amount of fear, hate and anxiety on the planet is not only way below what it should be, but at an all time high on anxiety.org if anyone wants to read more about why we won’t be able to get out of the “3rd density” that we’re currently stuck in.

    WTF! How
did you come to that date 2012? And if so, today is September 28 2012,
shouldn't it be visible by now? I mean planet X? By Zecharia Sitchin, last
documented passage is dated about 600 B.C. Planet X has orbital cycle lasting
    about 3500 years, so make the calculation: 3500 – 2600(last passage) = 900
years in the future. That is why even today astronomers can not detect planet
X, because it is 900 years from perihelion point that means still very distant
far beyond outer border of our solar system.

    So if you
are concerned about the end of World, stop panicking about Planet X!

    and start
rather panicking about ecological catastrophes caused by India or China.
