Vatican Bank Accused of Money Laundering Scheme

A report in an Italian magazine claimed that the Vatican bank laundered approximately $200 million, triggering an investigation into the church's bank.

The Vatican bank is the 8th most popular destination for laundering money. The church's bank deals in gold, insurance and other worldwide currencies and notes. It runs by its own rules.

Critics ask why a church needs its own bank.

Attorneys for the Catholic church claim that it is being unfairly attacked for a political agenda.
