After prayers at Saint Sava Serbian Orthodox Church, a gun-toting event called Serbian Christmas took place in Jackson, California. The church was built in 1894 and served the hundreds of immigrants who came to northern California.
Jackson's Orthodox Christmas celebration took place on January 7.
Shooting guns comes from a folklore tradition and is not part of the Orthodox Church's service.
