5 Stars Interesting Reading
I find this book to be very interesting to read. It deals with moral controversies. My class just started but so far what I have read is very interesting.
4 Stars A book for philosophy
I bought this book for my class. Although i have trouble with the shipping time: the book arrive 2 days later and cost me to go through a long process working with amazon about it, when it arrived the quality is exactly like what i expected. No missing pages, no wet pages, no highlight, no pencil mark. The quality is excellent.
4 Stars Great Service
The textbook was everything it was described it would be. A good deal. I walked away completely satisfied.
1 Star No Index
If you are using this book for study or research, the lack of an index makes a quick find difficult. Unless you are going to read the book cover to cover (more power to you) you may miss key points you are looking for.
The book is a compilation of essays so the content can be found almost anywhere in one form or another. The small print makes the contents seem "crowded".
On a good note, the study questions at the end of the sections seemed helpful.
5 Stars Inspiring Collection
I bought this book for a philosophy class on Contemporary Moral Issues, and it covered all topics very well with readings from major philosophers and distinguished modern professors. It's a great way to learn the basics of philosophy (Utilitarianism, Kant, etc) and get you thinking about the problems we face today. I'd never thought so deeply about affirmative action, animal rights, the death penalty, and much more until I read this book!
