I bought this book for someone who I thought could use it. I discovered I, myself, needed this book and I cannot give it away even though I have been praying for years. I have thought of numerous other people to give this book to and am ordering more copies. It is a very comforting book for anyone struggling with a serious challenge, which is just about everyone! I find myself rereading it, praying the prayers and pondering it again and again. I believe it will become a classic and stand the test of time.

1 Star Arrogant twaddle
Sam Harris once said (accurately) pretending to know things you do not know is the sine qua non of religion. This book is an ample demonstration of that fact. The author constantly claims to know what God thinks, what God is like, what God values, why God answers prayers (but only certain prayers), etc… Of course, he doesn't know any of this; for that matter he doesn't know if God exists. The book establishes a double standard common through religious literature: if God doesn't answer a prayer, there must be a good reason for the denial. We poor flawed humans cannot question the will of the Almighty. As my uncle says, God works in mysterious ways. But is it not possible, readers of the review, that God answers no prayers because he doesn't exist? Strange how no amputees are healed by prayer–ever.

I'm just going to come out and say it: If you spend a cent of money on this, you are a fool.

The book also addresses the question "How do we get God's attention"? There are ten chapters in the book that address each prayer that Anthony Destefano says God will definitely answer. Anthony Destefano claims people waste to much time on prayers that actually don't work. Some of the prayers in the book include "God, show me that you exist," "God, forgive me," "God, give me courage" and "God, lead me to my destiny." The author uses the Christian Bible as the basis for his work.

If you want to learn more about praying and what it can do for you may I suggest you read the book I wrote "The Enlightenment, What God Told Me After One Million Prayers: A Message For Everyone." It deals with God, the creator, Jesus' teachings, and His Passion to the last detail. I think the readers of Anthony Destefano's book will really enjoy The Enlightenment.
