Yahweh is definitely a not an equal opportunity employer when it comes to the priesthood, since anyone with "defects" is not allowed to approach the altar of God. "Defective people" include the blind, the lame, dwarfs, and people with flat noses or other blemishes, damaged testicles, broken hands or feet, crooked backs, scurvy, scabs, or anything "superfluous." Priests aren't allowed to shave their heads, trim the "corners" of their beards or pierce their flesh.
Some more death penalties are dictated by Yahweh in this chapter.
Priests are allowed to marry, provided the women they choose are not profane, whores, or divorced. They can't go near dead people. The priesthood rules extend to the priest's daughters, too:
21:9 (From King James Chapter 21, Skeptics Annotated) And the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the whore, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire.
The book of Leviticus, so far, has some rules that would not be tolerated in today's society, like stoning children, psychics and gays. Sam Harris debated Rabbi David Wolpe about this subject.
