According to a press release issued by Jon Hirst of The Well, Jesus would not preach tolerance. Ken Eastburn, a leader of The Well, which is a network of home-based churches in California and Colorado.
"The world sees tolerance as the solution for many problems we face today. But tolerance is a copout. It allows us to harbor bitterness, racism, bigotry, and hate as long as we're able to manage our behavior appropriately," says Eastburn, "Tolerance says 'I don't have to like who you are or what you do, but I'll put up with it.' Jesus' followers don't have the luxury of tolerance. We're called to the kind of love Jesus advocated which says, 'no matter who you are or what you do, you're worth dying for.'"
