Family and Lay Ministers Arrested for Child Sex Abuse
Three of the men accused of sexual crimes against children in Lafayette County, Missouri have been suspended as lay ministers by the Community of Christ church.
The men were also members of the same family, five of whom were jailed on sexual abuse charges earlier this week. Today, a six member of that same family was arrested on similar charges.
Felony charges were issued for forcible sodomy, rape with a child younger than 12 and use of a child in a sexual performance. The list of family members published by KCTV 5 includes Darrel W. Mohler, 78, his brother, Burrell Edward Mohler Sr., 77, of Independence, Mo., and Burrell's four adult sons: Burrell Edward Mohler Jr., 53, of Independence; Jared Leroy Mohler, 48, of Columbia; Roland Neil Mohler, 47, of Bates City; and David A. Mohler, 52, of Lamoni, Iowa.
