Prayers as a Medical Expense in Health Care Reform

We recently reported that the "spiritual care" section of the health reform bill was deleted. Russia Today's news indicates that these sections are still in the proposed health reform legislation.

A recently uncovered provision in the massive health care reform bill would have the U.S. government reimbursing Christian Science practitioners for prayer treatments. Does this violate the separation between church and state? Alternatively, could including prayer encourage some people to vote for the bill?

Priya Sridhar talks to Kim Geiger of the LA Times about the issue.
