A small town in Oklahoma, near the Kansas border, is planning on opening an "All Christian" prison. All staff at the prison would be Christians, according to Tulsa World.
While there are no guarantees that the faith-based prison will be approved by the state, the planners are optimistic, citing legal opinions "that say that as a religious organization, the prison will be able to hire only people of like faith." Prisoners, who would transfer there on a voluntary basis, would not be required to go to Bible study or church, but they would be required to participate in the "Christ centered" curriculum.
If approved, it would be the first of its kind in the country.
