The Spiritual Exercises of Eck

5 Stars We need tools
Everyone on any spiritual path has a set of "tools" or techniques they use to assist themselves to grow in that path. Maybe it's the rosary, or prayer,or meditation, or good works, or any number of different approaches to expand your awareness or to make yourself a better person. I think we might all agree the purpose of any religion is to help us to become a better person, more loving, etc.
The Spiritual Exercises of Eck is a great toolbox of techniques which any seeker can use to help expand their state of awareness. There are techniques you can use when you go to sleep, there are exercises you can use to better soul travel, there are techniques you can use to meet spiritual masters. There is something here for everyone.
No matter what religion you are in, practice makes perfect. So I would say that anyone could benefit by trying these techniques.
5 Stars SPIRITUAL MUSCLE
This book lists so many imaginative 'exercises' to jump start your OWN inner journey, there must be at least one that will open some doors for you. Although it is an Eckankar book, there are numerous caveats that tell the Reader to place whomever they are comfortable with in their 'exercise scenario'. As with anything in life, some will object to the fact that followers of Eckankar revere this man as a Master/Teacher (no worship, just loving admiration). But he consistently gears a caveat to readers to 'adjust' the created exercise to FIT you in whatever mode of expression is comfortable. To place a dearly loved Spiritual Savior or pet/person/place in the 'trust' position to relax you into the arms of God's Love and help you open your inner doors. Eckists use his image–not for worship, but for LOVE and Trust that he knows the way, and will teach them. But that doesn't mean YOU have to! Use whomever you want; Jesus, Buddha, your spouse, Mom, your dearly loved dog Rex! It is the relaxation of fear, and the growth of love and Trust that opens these inner doors! A spiritual 'workout' to build spiritual muscle! Worth the read for ANY spiritual path, to enhance your abilities to find God within, and be better at whatever religious path you CHOOSE follow. To be all you can be as SOUL. I love this book.
5 Stars Developing Spiritual Strength
I use The Spiritual Exercises of Eck frequently because in it, I have found innovative ways to get out of my own way when looking for answers to life's problems. I am continually amazed at how much inner strength I have developed by these practices. Far from being slavish reliance on some outside force or being, these exercises have taught me how to harmonize myself to the rhythms of life. They are simple, practical, and extremely effective. For example, one exercise helped me solve a programming problem I had with my computer. Another helped me when I sat with my father when he was about to leave this world. This book isn't a quick read–it is a life-long study.
5 Stars For the adventuresome spiritual seeker…
I have tried many of these exercises and I find them to be beneficial. Some exercises I liked more than others. Yes, they do require real effort and perseverance on my part, like everything else I would want to be great at. The only obstacle, I have gathered from those who failed at them, is an attitude of fear and an aversion to spiritual adventure. I have learned that these exercises may not be for everyone, not for the faint-hearted.
As many of you do, I invest a great deal of faith in God and trust His protection and know that "If God is for us, who can be against us." And like Ralph Waldo Emerson says: "…God will not have his work made manifest by cowards." I like what Yoda says too: "Fear is the path to the dark side."
These spiritual exercises are like weights for me to build genuine inner strength. I am a servant of God and I strive to manifest His blessings in my life. Only the strong can do that.
In other words, this book will be beneficial to the spiritual seeker not shackled by fear and who is willing to put in the effort.
1 Star Evil and Satanic, Stay Away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I warn you with all my heart to stay away from Eckankar it is truly a religion of the deepest evil for it engages in true deception which is good mixed with evil. The entire foundational doctorine of Eckankar is deceptive. I was once an Eckist and was awakened by the Spirit to its lies. It will lead you to a true hell where bad is good and good is bad and you will end up with a smile on your face while you are being stabbed in the back by Satan wrapped in Eckankar clothing and you will say it was of the light that you passed, furthermore Satsn leads men and women down to the depths of hell rhrough flaxen cord that is initially soft to the touch and thought until it is bound around the neck and becomes a chain that pulls the victim into his serpent cluches and squeezes the very spiritual life out of their precious soul and can only be redeemed by a Savior. Please do not read Eck material it is so harmful, I warn you with all my might no matter how good it sounds do not take the candy from the stranger for his plans are dark and evil. I know people will disagree with what I have said and to them I urge to reevaluate their beliefs, to search the internet, common sense, and their heart extensively and the truth will be revealed. Eckankar is a wolf in sheeps clothing and has no love for you or you eternal welfare. I honor and respect your free agency and I know I am but a man and that I am flawed and that I make mistakes every day, but I have been there and I implore you with all the love of my heart to stay away from the black widow that is Eckankar it will literally kill you and leave you with nothing.
