In this classic work, Eric Butterworth sees the divine within us all to be a hidden and untapped resource of limitless abundance. Exploring this "depth potential," Butterworth outlines ways in which we can release the power locked within us and let our "light shine."
Butterworth demonstrates that the existence of this divine dimension in each individual is the greatest discovery of all time. He explains the universality of such vital subjects as: how to succeed; how to pray; how to find confidence; how to overcom personal problems; and how to find healing. With insight and sensitivity, Butterworth opens new doors of self-knowledge, and outlines ways in which we can release the power within.

4 Stars A very good metaphysical interpretation
I have not completely finished this book, but the part that I have read is wonderful. The way Butterworth takes things Jesus said (mostly according to the books Matthew, and John) and turns them into treatments is very eye opening and right on. From what I have read so far, a very good explanation for those of us who are new age or metaphysical thinkers — who believe that Jesus wanted us to DO as he did and become the God I AM, and take responsibility for our own lives and our own enlightenment. I especially like how the Beattitudes are translated into treatments. Thank you Eric Butterworth.
5 Stars 'Weekend Warrior" missed the point
The book is spiritual yes, however religious NO. There is not one religion or doctrine centered in this writing. In fact, it is about your becoming and remaining connected with GOD. How we work with the power within not without (ie religions) is what makes the difference. The author centers on the life of the Christ not from a religious stand point but as a demonstration of what man is capable of. GOD didn't create Christianity, Buddhism, Judiasm, Islam, Taoism, or any other religion…man did.
I encourage persons reading these critiques to look at what others have written. Our lives are what we make it. Connecting with GOD as our source changes us from being a victim to an individual that has found and helps to create "Peace on Earth".
5 Stars A Five Star Preacher
Rev Butterworth delves into, after a couple of introductory chapters, a new way of looking at the old teachings of Jesus. He avoids most of the biblical story ABOUT Jesus; rather, he focuses on what Jesus said and how that might work for us now. It does have a ring of truth about it. I am using it as a study guide for a small group who want to look deeper at our spiritual beliefs and individual spiritual unfoldment. I recommend the book.
5 Stars The Power of God IS within you
[...] I am always on the outlook for books that help my spirit to grow. This, along with other books by Eric Butterworth, has done that for me.
I have been a spiritual seeker for most of my life, but I had often come up empty-handed within my own religious background. What had been missing for me was the understanding that the power of God was already within me. Eric Butterworth will open the door to your own understanding of this tremendous power that lies within each and every one of you.
You must have an open mind if you are going to grow. As you read this book, you will be exposed to new ways of thinking about what you have learned from Christianity within you past. What you will discover is that there are very practical ways to harness the power of God and to make it manifest itself in ways you are seeking within your lives.
Eric Butterworth reminds me very much of Norman Vincent Peale and Dale Carnegie. He talks about letting go of self-defeating attitudes and embracing a positive outlook upon life. I love how he coins the phrase, The "Be Attitudes." It will give you a whole new perspective on Jesus' Sermon on the Mount.
Eric Butterworth writes in a manner that is easily digested. He offers practical methods in order to tap into that divine power within yourself. I can truly say that having read and practiced what has been in this and his other books has helped to transform my life. I now have faith that I will be living a life beyond my wildest dreams.

5 Stars Removes the Shackles of Religious Dogma
This book broke new ground for me. I have read many, many, books and new ground is rarely reached!
I agree with another review that it had many Bible quotes,BUT in the context of this book, you see them much more clearly than ever. It is NOT a religious book, even if it does quote the Bible. What Dr Butterworth does is refers to "the writing in red" and the deeper truths spoken by Jesus Christ, bypassing the pulpit and any religious agendas.
Christ's teachings spoken truth(s) persevere, even as they are scrutinized in todays "sciences" that did not exist in his day (Quantum Physics for instance)
So, you can sit down in a joyous state and read words of truth, losing the guilt and social parameters of church and religion.
I never could be called a Jesus Freak, but I have come to realize, he said it best when it comes to all areas of our spiritual lives.
Sitting down with this book is like getting first hand meaning and clearing up any confusion about spiritual laws like "The meek shall inherit the Earth." I bet, especially if you made it to church every Sunday, you will gain a new and clearer understanding that has been right underneath you all along.
Do yourself and those you love a favor and read the book. You will be a different and better person of understanding. Great Job Butterworth!
