The Bible Slam: Exodus Chapter 37

This chapter is another turgid narrative about building the ark of the covenant. Huge quantities of pure gold are used, despite the fact that the contributors were a nomadic tribe wandering around in the desert.

Discussion Points.

Exodus Chapter 37 (King James, Skeptics Annotated) tells us that two cherubim with great wings are made out of pure gold. Are these not graven images, thus violating the ten commandments?

Skeptics Annotated points out a discrepancy:   Moses takes credit for building the ark in the book of Deuteronomy. In this chapter, we are told that Bezaleel built it.
