Christians in Middle East Persecuted

Christians are leaving the Holy Land in record numbers, and a new report suggests persecution against Palestinian believers is getting worse.

Because of the aggressive spread of extremist Islamic ideas, thousands of Palestinian Christians have fled Palestinian-controlled areas like Bethlehem.

Churches have been bombed, members and preachers receive death threats, and Christian believers have been the victims of violent attacks. The once flourishing Christian business community is disappearing, as businesses are forced to close shop.

Observers say that if the trend continues, there will be more Christian sacred places in Bethlehem than Christians.

The 2,000 Christians who live in Gaza are under siege. Many are fleeing. Preaching to Muslims is a recipe for death. Ladies with no head cover can be subject to attack. Families receive death threats and live in constant fear.
