In Little Rock, Arkansas, thieves stole a church's debit card number and spent $4,200 on diet pills, tooth whiteners and designer clothes.
The local Better Business Bureau says that the best way for churches and individuals to protect their identity is to shred their documents. They will have a large shredder available on a public outreach day.
The church, however, says that it has shredded its documents so it does not know how the debit card number was obtained. Oddly, the thief or thieves had all of the merchandise shipped to the church.

Two suspects were arrested for the mass church break-ins in Tennessee. Three of the four suspects were arrested in Kentucky. One is still being sought.

With the ongoing trend of church burglaries, police in Tennessee give advice about how churches can protect themselves, particularly since the holiday season is approaching. An alarm system and strong doors and locks are recommended. Shrubs and vegetation should be trimmed.
